Our History​

How it all started

Mehmet’s family story is steeped in culinary culture. His father spent years serving sizzling skewers and smoky tagines from a street stall in Marrakesh’s legendary markets, while his mother perfected bold, aromatic dishes in a bustling roadside kitchen just outside Lagos. When the family came to England in 1977, they continued sharing their food with neighbours and friends — preserving the flavours of home with pride. Today, Mehmet takes that legacy to a new chapter in Potters Bar, bringing treasured family recipes and regional favourites to the local community through high-quality takeaway dining.
